No one told Knox was the date on the calendar is. Yes, he really should be paying attention - June 1 at home equals April 1 here. But with eleven days to the election, his mind isn't on the day.

More fool he as her arrives at his room.

It is silent. Empty.

Is it perhaps a little more silent than an empty apartment should be? As if it's trying very hard?

He puts his key in the lock. Something seems off. His Gothamite's sense of crime should be telling him that maybe he shouldn't go in. But this isn't Gotham. Who would break in to a room here? And while he does have one of the nicer rooms, why steal what you can jsut get from the Bar?

Besides, the cops here are good. And tough. No one would wnat to face them.

So it must be fine. And he unlocks the door and opens it.

From down the corridor outside, someone is giggling.

"GODDAMIT! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?" He wipes the glop from his eyes, and holds his hands up to see just what was poured over him.

His first fleeting thought is that it's not blood. (He saw that horror film with Sissy Spacek a long time ago, and that scene with the pig's blood is hard to forget.)

His next thought is that it's paint. Pink paint.

"OK, who did this? And who's there?" That giggle sounds familiar.

Now it is footsteps. Quick light ones. And then the blinding flash of a camera.

And then another giggle, and Steph's running away again. No point in staying around to get potentially painted!

"Hey! Get back here!" Was that Steph? With a camera? She's not getting away so easily. "What did I do that you did this?"

Though as Knox chases after, a pink trail forms behind him. And he's never going to catch up.

Not a hope. Particularly not since she reaches the end of the corridor and promptly dives out the window, yanking her skaterug out from her back pocket and snapping it open mid-air.

"Happy April Fool's!"

He gets to the window and watches her float off. When did they put in a window, anyway? He's gotta pay more attention to this place. "You are so gonna pay for this, Brown!"

Knox looks behind now and sees the trail of pink. His shirt and slacks are ruined. So, he guesses, is his hair.

"April Fool's..." He grumbles as he heads to his room, and hopes that he can get the paint out in the next three weeks.

"Oh, crap, what am I going to Rapunzel," he mutters as he slams the door behind him. But if you can see under the paint, there is a hint of a smile. He can appreciate a good prank. And a reason for revenge...

If you can't get the paint out a new outfit is totally on me. And the cleaning and stuff, otherwise the Loompas'll totally hate you. Just tell Bar.

Wekk, that does mitigate things a bit. At least she pays for her pranks.
