Housewarming

The new apartment awaits its guests. Brand new folding chairs line the walls of the dining room, and the living room is as clean as possible.

Almost everything is ready. Let the housewarming begin!

Rapunzel smiled at Rachel's arrival, which is hard to miss. She lets Alex greet his friend first, while she sets out a tray of cookies, then makes her way over.

"Hello, Rachel. I'm glad you could make it; it means the world to Alex."

Rachel flashed a tired grin at Rapunzel "I'm glad I didn't miss it honestly" it had actually been a real worry on her part. "Was I suppose to bring anything?" she asked, eying the cookies and such.

"Just yourself; never fear. Can I get you a drink?"

Her voice is edged with concern, not knowing her as well as Alex does.

"You look tired."

"Ummm, if you want to?" she offered. Party's weren't exactly her forte, and behavior at them wasn't a subject she'd ever studied.

"I am. I probably will be for a few weeks. It'll pass, promise."

"What would you like to drink? We have water, milk, soft drinks, beer, harder stuff...you name it."

A few weeks seems like a long time to be tired, but she supposes that Rachel knows her own body and its limitations.

A few weeks in exchange for several years of poor eating and sleeping habits was a pretty good trade off in her mind actually. "Water please?" she had no reason for anything harder, especially away from Bar.

Gotham couldn't handle a tipsy telepath if she slipped.

She is only gone a few moments before returning with a tall glass for Rachel.

"You should help yourself to something to eat. Alex likes to sneak cookies when he thinks no one is looking."

"Cookies are rarely a bad thing" so sneaking them was okay really, in her mind at least. Unless he was suppose to be on a diet?

"And I'll try anything you like" because left to her own devices she'd...forget.

"A dangerous promise! Cookies are rarely bad, in moderation. Sometimes Alex is worse than a little kid."

She doesn't sound unhappy about it--on the contrary.

"Make yourself at home, and I'll fix you a plate while you get to know the other guests."
